Onboarding Webinar on International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism 2027 (IYSRT) – Academia

Dear Members,
We hope this message finds you well.
UN Tourism is facilitating the planning and implementation of 2027 as the International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism (IYSRT2027) as mandated by the United Nations General Assembly.
IYSRT2027 represents a major opportunity for the tourism sector and the research community to generate knowledge and advance the implementation of sustainability and resilience objectives. It places the spotlight on our sector while also enabling tourism to contribute arguments and solutions well beyond the issues that normally receive attention. Most importantly, UN Tourism has designed the overarching framework of the International Year as a global consultation on the future of tourism so as to help inform and shape the post-2030 agenda from a tourism perspective.
Knowledge development is an important pillar of the structure of the International Year and you may find attached a guidance document concerning the purpose, scope and criteria governing the development of a knowledge base through research, reports and publications undertaken in the context of IYSRT2027.
UN Tourism has also invited AIEST, ATLAS, IFITT, TTRA, CHRIE, ATHENA, and EATSA to participate in a dedicated onboarding webinar – sessions are facilitated for two time zones and participants can attend one or the other according to their convenience.
